The article will help you design your own «Objective Tracking » cards. It is a very nice way to connect to your objectives (either team objectives or personal ones) and to define success. After doing this activity, you will have a nice set of cards that you can use to boost yourself, connect with your intention sand track your progress!

For this activity, you will need:

  • Preparation time: 60 minutes
  • Level of Difficulty: Medium
  • Material needed: around 10 Play Cards, pens, post-its or paper

Writing your objectives is a great way to materialize what you want to do. You can use the format of the Play Cards to make this more interactive, memorable and more structured approach.

You will use your Play Cards to write your different objectives and in this activity, we will try to see how we can track them and complete our challenges.

1. Define your objectives

Start with some paper and/or post-its. Brainstorm your objectives and when you have many, select the ones that seem the most relevant to you. If you have a lot, consider regrouping them per category.

2. Design your objective side

Use the front of the card to name your objective. You can also assign different colors to different categories. For example, you can have Lifestyle, Work-life, Environment, Friends & Family… It can be useful to divide your objectives into categories if you have many of them.

To do this, simply assign one color to an objective. You can use a title card to define better each category if you’d like. Feel free to create a unique design!

3. Track your progress

Now that you completed the objective side of your cards, flip them around and ask yourself how you can track the progress of that objective. Do you have any KPI in mind? Do you want to track your progress every day, every year or use them to assess your year?

Ask yourself these questions and for each objective, design a personalized back of cards that will help you know if you’re meeting your goals.

Don’t hesitate to add a personal touch to them like checklists, stickers or weekly assessments!

You can use these cards to animate workshops about objectives, co-construct these cards with your team or use it as a personal tracking tool!
